| Heritage Building
The Bank House, a heritage building in the centre of Crookwell, is one of the finest examples of early 20th century bank architecture outside of the Sydney metropolitan area.
The original building was erected on the site in 1876 as the Bank of NSW and served the gold trade from Tuena during its goldrush period.
Rebuilt in 1907, and again in 1914 as Crookwell grew, it then became a branch serving the local wool industry - the imposing nature of its facade reflecting the wealth - up to $1 million a day in the season - of the local wool industry. |
