APR: OPEN GARDENS, CROOKWELL

Part of the Australian Open Gardens Scheme. A number of renowned gardens in the Crookwell region will be open for inspection.

OPEN GARDENS, BRAIDWOOD

In conjunction with the Braidwood Quilt Festival, some of Braidwood's best gardens will be open for inspection on the Open Garden Day weekend.

NOV: PALERANG

A garden dating from 1840s. Open 10am-4.30pm. Admission $4.50

NOV: ROTHERWOOD

"Rotherwood" is a restrained and elegant 2 ha garden developed around core of convict-brick wall and historic fountains. Designer Chris Rowlands has added formal gardens, a reflecting pool and stone walls. Mature oaks frame panoramic views of surrounding countryside.

Directions: From Goulburn take Braidwood Road to Tarago, turn left into Lumley Road; garden further 5km towards Bungonia.

From Canberra travel to Tarago via Bungendore; cross Braidwood Road and continue towards Bungonia for 5km.

Lunches, morning/afternoon teas available at Lavendar Garden Tea Rooms & Accommodation, Braidwood Road, LAKE BATHURST.

Open 10.00am to 4.30pm. Entrance $4.50.
